They will see the Son of Man Coming – Matthew 24:30
Who is the Son of Man and who will see him? How will the true representative of Jehovah God be identified? When is the Son of Man coming?
Jesus Christ identified himself as the son of man; he came to mankind and presented himself as the King, the true representative of Jehovah God’s Kingdom.
Was he accepted as king? And will we have one more time to accept him as the King of God’s kingdom, the true representative of Jehovah God?
Mark 11:7-10 And they brought the colt to Jesus, and they put their outer garments upon it, and he sat on it. 8 Also, many spread their outer garments on the road, but others cut down foliage from the fields. 9 And those going in front and those coming behind kept crying out: “Save, we pray! Blessed is he that comes in Jehovah’s name! 10 Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David! Save, we pray, in the heights above!”
Did the people of Israel and of Jerusalem properly identify their foretold Messiah around the year 33 CE? Did they act properly according to Scripture? Where did they get the idea of putting branches on the road and crying out “save, we pray”?
Let’s look to the past history of the kingdom of David to see what we can learn. 1 Kings 1:29-40
He Was Made King
As king David was getting old one of his sons decided that he was going to become king despite the promise that Solomon would become king. In that day Adonijah, tried to make himself King but God saw the events that were unfolding. Then he had the prophet Nathan get Bathsheba to press King David into making his promise of who would be the next a king a matter of public knowledge.
1 Kings 1:29-31… And the king proceeded to swear and say: “As Jehovah is living who redeemed my soul out of all distress, 30 just as I have sworn to you by Jehovah the God of Israel, saying, Solomon your son is the one that will become king after me, and he is the one that will sit upon my throne in place of me!’ that is the way I shall do this day.” 31 Then Bathsheba bowed low with her face to the earth and prostrated herself to the king and said: “Let my lord King David live to time indefinite!”
1 Kings 1:32-37… Immediately King David said: “YOU men, call for me Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada.” So they came in before the king. 33 And the king went on to say to them: “Take with YOU the servants of YOUR lord, and YOU must make Solomon my son ride upon the she-mule that belongs to me and lead him down to Gihon. 34 And Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet must anoint him there as king over Israel; and YOU must blow the horn and say, ‘Let King Solomon live!’ 35 And YOU must come up following him, and he must come in and sit upon my throne; and he himself will be king in place of me, and him I shall have to commission to become leader over Israel and over Judah.” 36 At once Benaiah the son of Jehoiada answered the king and said: “Amen! Thus may Jehovah the God of my lord the king say. 37 Just as Jehovah proved to be with my lord the king, so let him prove to be with Solomon, and may he make his throne greater than the throne of my lord King David.”
1 Kings 1:38-40… And Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada and the Cherethites and the Pelethites proceeded to go down and make Solomon ride upon the she-mule of King David, and then brought him to Gihon. 39 Zadok the priest now took the horn of oil out of the tent and anointed Solomon; and they began to blow the horn, and all the people broke out saying: “Let King Solomon live!” 40 After that all the people came on up following him, and the people were playing on flutes and rejoicing with great joy, so that the earth was split by the noise of them.
As we can see from this reading, King David’s son, Solomon, was made to ride upon an Ass and at arriving at a certain point in the city of David he was to be anointed with oil from the high priest as the King of the Kingdom. At that point he was made to sit on the throne of David and horns were to be blown to identify the significance of the event.
King David was promised by God to have a dynasty that would last forever, and God’s people believed it, hoped and prayed for it and even sang songs about it.
Remember Mark chapter 11 what we read and how that account ties into the account found here at 1 King chapter 1? It is little wonder then that when Jesus came riding on a donkey to the city of Jerusalem that the people began to say, “save we pray” and started putting down Palm Branches on the road, they did know their scriptures and the prophecies about the coming of their Messiah.
Psalms 118 was also a well-known song about the Messiah, how he would come in the name of righteousness and in God’s name blessing the true God and God’s people. Let’s just read the song and we will ask you this question. Can you see why the people acted the way they did upon seeing Jesus coming to Jerusalem riding on an ass?
Psalms 118:19-29… Open to me the gates of righteousness, YOU people. I shall go into them; I shall laud Jah. 20 This is the gate of Jehovah. The righteous themselves will go into it. 21 I shall laud you, for you answered me and you came to be my salvation. 22 The stone that the builders rejected has become the head of the corner. 23 This has come to be from Jehovah himself; It is wonderful in our eyes. 24 This is the day that Jehovah has made; we will be joyful and rejoice in it. 25 Ah, now, Jehovah, do save, please! ah, now, Jehovah, do grant success, please! 26 Blessed be the One coming in the name of Jehovah; we have blessed YOU people out of the house of Jehovah. 27 Jehovah is the Divine One, and he gives us light. Bind the festival procession with boughs, O YOU people, as far as the horns of the altar. 28 You are my Divine One, and I shall laud you; my God—I shall exalt you. 29 Give thanks to Jehovah, YOU people, for he is good; for his loving-kindness is to time indefinite.
Was Christ Jesus accepted by all the nation of Israel as a designated King to sit upon the throne of David, and why not?
Not Accepted as the New King
Jesus prophesied that they would not accept him as the King of God’s Kingdom, but before this rejection by the nations religious leaders Jesus prophesied that their house would become abandoned to them until a future time and event. What else happened on the day the leaders of nation of Israel rejected the Messiah, the Christ of God?
Luke 13:34-35 Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the killer of the prophets and stoner of those sent forth to her—how often I wanted to gather your children together in the manner that a hen gathers her brood of chicks under her wings, but YOU people did not want [it]! Look! YOUR house is abandoned to YOU. I tell YOU, YOU will by no means see me until YOU say, ‘Blessed is he that comes in Jehovah’s name.’”
Christ Jesus as the King designate came to sit upon the throne of David. There was no high priest there to anoint him with oil, no official blowing of the horn to mark the event as special. Their failure to accept the designated King of that time would lead to what chain of events?
Would the Messiah, Christ Jesus ever be accepted as the King to sit on the throne of David? And why is it that Jesus was so confident they would yet see him coming as their king in the future?
Christ Jesus was there to bless the people in God’s name just as Psalms 118 prophesied he would. So, what happens next? Please let us pick up the reading of Luke chapter 19
Luke 19:28-34… So, after he had said these things, he began to go on ahead, going up to Jerusalem. 29 And when he got near to Bethphage and Bethany at the mountain called Mount of Olives, he sent forth two of the disciples, 30 saying: “Go into the village that is within sight of YOU, and in it after YOU pass in YOU will find a colt tied, on which none of mankind ever sat. Loose it and bring it. 31 But if anyone asks YOU, why is it YOU are loosing it? YOU must speak in this way The Lord needs it”. 32 So those who were sent forth departed and found it just as he said to them. 33 But as they were loosing the colt the owners of it said to them: “Why are YOU loosing the colt?” 34 They said: “The Lord needs it.”
The Lord Jesus knew the events that were about to take place, so he directed his disciples to go get the beast of burden to ride upon.
Luke 19:35-40… And they led it to Jesus, and they threw their outer garments upon the colt and set Jesus upon [it]. 36 As he moved along they kept spreading their outer garments on the road. 37 As soon as he got near the road down the Mount of Olives all the multitude of the disciples started to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice concerning all the powerful works they had seen, 38 saying: “Blessed is the One coming as the King in Jehovah’s name! Peace in heaven, and glory in the highest places!” 39 However, some of the Pharisees from the crowd said to him: “Teacher, rebuke your disciples.” 40 But in reply he said: “I tell YOU, If these remained silent, the stones would cry out.”
The Lord Jesus Christ rode into Jerusalem expecting to be made King, but instead is met by the religious leaders who objected to his coming.
Luke 19:41-44… And when he got nearby, he viewed the city and wept over it, 42 saying: “If you, even you, had discerned in this day the things having to do with peace—but now they have been hid from your eyes. 43 Because the days will come upon you when your enemies will build around you a fortification with pointed stakes and will encircle you and distress you from every side, 44 and they will dash you and your children within you to the ground, and they will not leave a stone upon a stone in you, because you did not discern the time of your being inspected.”
The Lord Jesus now identifies what the prophets of old had said about the destruction of Jerusalem. Their failure to accept Christ Jesus as the designated king led to their direct judgment by God. The city of Jerusalem was found and judged unacceptable before God for failing to accept the change from above as prophesied by Zephaniah.
Zephaniah 1:14-18… “The great day of Jehovah is near. It is near, and there is a hurrying [of it] very much. The sound of the day of Jehovah is bitter. There a mighty man is letting out a cry. 15 That day is a day of fury, a day of distress and of anguish, a day of storm and of desolation, a day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick gloom, 16 a day of horn and of alarm signal, against the fortified cities and against the high corner towers. 17 And I will cause distress to mankind, and they will certainly walk like blind men; because it is against Jehovah that they have sinned. And their blood will actually be poured out like dust, and their bowels like the dung. 18 Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to deliver them in the day of Jehovah’s fury; but by the fire of his zeal the whole earth will be devoured, because he will make an extermination, indeed a terrible one, of all the inhabitants of the earth.”
Jesus Christ was confident they would see him coming as king in the future. So, what Scripture gave him this confidence? The answer is found here in the book of Danial.
Danial 7:9-10… I kept on beholding until there were thrones placed and the Ancient of Days sat down. His clothing was white just like snow, and the hair of his head was like clean wool. His throne was flames of fire; its wheels were a burning fire. 10 There was a stream of fire flowing and going out from before him. There were a thousand thousand’s that kept ministering to him, and ten thousand times ten thousand that kept standing right before him. The Court took its seat, and there were books that were opened.
Ancient of days is the true God the sovereign of the universe and his court was called into session and books were opened up. What was to happen next?
Danial 7:13-14… I kept on beholding in the visions of the night and see there! with the clouds of the heavens someone like a son of man happened to be coming; and to the Ancient of Days, he gained access, and they brought him up close even before that One. 14 And to him there were given rulership and dignity and kingdom, that the peoples, national groups and languages should all serve even him. His rulership is an indefinitely lasting rulership that will not pass away, and his kingdom one that will not be brought to ruin.
The prophet Daniel was revealed in the vision that the Son of Man Jesus Christ would receive a kingdom, then he described who and where and how long he would rule for. Would Jesus be alone in this rulership role? The Bible answers for us.
Danial 7:18, 21… But the holy ones of the Supreme One will receive the kingdom, and they will take possession of the kingdom for time indefinite, even for time indefinite upon times indefinite… 21 “I kept on beholding when that very horn made war upon the holy ones, and it was prevailing against them, 22 until the Ancient of Days came and judgment itself was given in favor of the holy ones of the Supreme One, and the definite time arrived that the holy ones took possession of the kingdom itself.
It was prophesied that in time the Son of Man would receive those who are called the holy ones and they would take possession of the kingdom of God. But there was somebody who was going to stand in opposition to the Kingdom of God. What else was prophesied about this opposition event?
Danial 7:25-21… And he will speak even words against the Most High, and he will harass continually the holy ones themselves of the Supreme One. And he will intend to change times and law, and they will be given into his hand for a time, and times and half a time. 26 And the Court itself proceeded to sit, and his own rulership they finally took away, in order to annihilate [him] and to destroy [him] totally. 27 And the kingdom and the rulership and the grandeur of the kingdoms under all the heavens were given to the people who are the holy ones of the Supreme One. Their kingdom is an indefinitely lasting kingdom, and all the rulership’s will serve and obey even them.’
This vision that the prophet Daniel had was all about who has the right to rule over the earth. He gives details about the resistance to the holy ones of God who also receive the kingdom with the son of man, but they must undergo a time of harassment before receiving the kingdom from the True God. Yes, Jesus Christ knew they would not accept his Kingship right away but after a period of time he would take back the rulership of the earth. Notice what the Son of Man said would happen in the future respecting this very event.
Matthew 25:31-34 “When the Son of man arrives in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit down on his glorious throne. 32 And all the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate people one from another, just as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 And he will put the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on his left. 34 “Then the king will say to those on his right, ‘Come, YOU who have been blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for YOU from the founding of the world.
When will the Son of Man come to separate the sheep and goats? Are these sheep the same as the chosen ones spoken of in the Bible? Who are the chosen ones and for what purpose are they chosen?

Message from the Lord 7/19/19:
Greetings from the most-high God. Righteousness will yet abound the time is short prepare yourselves. Gather those who will listen to you and tell them I am coming.
He is Coming
Isaiah 10:5-6,25-27… “Aha, the Assyrian, the rod for my anger, and the stick that is in their hand for my denunciation! Against an apostate nation I shall send him, and against the people of my fury I shall issue a command to him, to take much spoil and to take much plunder and to make it a trampling place like the clay of the streets… 25 For yet a very little while—and the denunciation will have come to an end, and my anger, in their wearing away. And Jehovah of armies will certainly brandish against him a whip as at the defeat of Midian by the rock Oreb; and his staff will be upon the sea, and he will certainly lift it up in the way that he did with Egypt. And it must occur in that day that his load will depart from upon your shoulder, and his yoke from upon your neck, and the yoke will certainly be wrecked because of the oil.”
The Scripture is a prophecy about why our God is coming in his anger and it reveals how he is going to save us and from who.
God’s wrath is being brought to bear upon wicked mankind it is a denunciation against self-rule it is he who is going to rule mankind.
Due to the anointing oil or ointment put upon our head it causes the yoke of slavery to become broken or slips off us.
So, who is the Assyrian? It is not just man; is not even a government it is a spirit force that is influencing mankind.
Some Bible passage renders this Scripture or word as Oil or Fat, so which is it?
Strong’s Concordance #8081 allows for the use to be rendered either way Fat or Oil, but it also gives indication for the word Ointment, and this is the appropriate word be used due to the context.
What is it that protects us from the denunciation that is coming? Is not the trust we have in our God? This passage of Scripture indicates that God will stand up for his people as he did oh so many years ago. We can be thankful for the anointing oil or ointment from our God that serves as a sign and seal for protection.
Why is God bringing about his denunciation? How will Gods denunciation manifest itself? Do you feel like your life is in turmoil?
Jeremiah 30:12-15… For this is what Jehovah has said: “There is no cure for your breakdown. Your stroke is chronic.13 There is no one pleading your cause, for [your] ulcer. There are no means of healing, no mending, for you.14 All those intensely loving you are the ones that have forgotten you. You are not the one for whom they keep searching. For with the stroke of an enemy I have struck you, with the chastisement of someone cruel, on account of the abundance of your error; your sins have become numerous.15 Why do you cry out on account of your breakdown? Your pain is incurable on account of the abundance of your error; your sins have become numerous. I have done these things to you.
Why is God bringing about his denunciation? God uses our enemies to strike at us because of our sin and we have not stopped or controlled our want of heart. Where is your humility and repentance? So, what will happen to us?
Jeremiah 30:16-24… Therefore, all those devouring you will themselves be devoured; and as for all your adversaries, into captivity they will all of them go. And those pillaging you will certainly come to be for pillaging, and all those plundering you I shall give over to plundering.”17 “For I shall bring up a recuperation for you, and from your strokes I shall heal you,” is the utterance of Jehovah. “For a woman chased away is what they called you: ‘That is Zion, for whom no one is searching.’”18 This is what Jehovah has said: “Here I am gathering the captive ones of the tents of Jacob, and for his tabernacles I shall have pity. And the city will actually be rebuilt upon her mound; and upon its rightful site the dwelling tower itself will sit.19 And from them there will certainly go forth thanksgiving, and the sound of those who are laughing. And I will multiply them, and they will not become few; and I will make them heavy in number, and they will not become insignificant.20 And his sons must become as in former times, and before me his own assembly will be firmly established. And I will turn my attention upon all his oppressors.21 And his majestic one will certainly come to be from him, and from the midst of him his own ruler will go forth; and I will cause him to come near, and he must approach to me. For who, now, is this one that has given his heart in pledge in order to approach to me?” is the utterance of Jehovah.22 “And YOU will certainly become my people, and I myself shall become YOUR God.”23 Look! A windstorm of Jehovah, rage itself, has gone forth, an onward-sweeping tempest. Upon the head of the wicked ones it will whirl.24 The burning anger of Jehovah will not turn back until he will have executed and until he will have carried out the ideas of his heart. In the final part of the day’s YOU people will give YOUR consideration to it.
We who endure to the end shall be healed from our strokes if we humble ourselves and repent.
Gods denunciation is manifested as a whirling windstorm. Do you now sometimes feel that your life is a whirling storm that you have no control in? You might want to take a knee and call out to the only one you can call to for relief.
Who is it that we can seek for relief to calm this storm in our life’s?
Revelation 19:11-16… And I saw the heaven opened, and look! a white horse. And the one seated upon it is called Faithful and True, and he judges and carries on war in righteousness.12 His eyes are a fiery flame, and upon his head are many diadems. He has a name written that no one knows but he himself,13 and he is arrayed with an outer garment sprinkled with blood, and the name he is called is The Word of God.14 Also, the armies that were in heaven were following him on white horses, and they were clothed in white, clean, fine linen.15 And out of his mouth there protrudes a sharp long sword, that he may strike the nations with it, and he will shepherd them with a rod of iron. He treads too the winepress of the anger of the wrath of God the Almighty.16 And upon his outer garment, even upon his thigh, he has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords.
If you want to escape the wrath of God you need to call upon the King of Kings, the Lord of Lord, the word of God, the faithful and true one our Lord Jesus Christ.
Isaiah 40:2-5 “SPEAK to the heart of Jerusalem and call out to her that her military service has been fulfilled, that her error has been paid off. For from the hand of Jehovah she has received a full amount for all her sins.”3 Listen! Someone is calling out in the wilderness: “Clear up the way of Jehovah, YOU people! MAKE the highway for our God through the desert plain straight.4 Let every valley be raised up, and every mountain and hill be made low. And the knobby ground must become level land, and the rugged ground a valley plain.5 And the glory of LORD will certainly be revealed, and all flesh must see [it] together, for the very mouth of Jehovah has spoken [it].
Humility and Repentance are needed to see these things that are found here in Scripture. God’s glory is coming, and all flesh will see it, but the reality is that some of us will not even understand these things till after they happened. I pray you understand what these passages of Scriptures are saying because you have been told, He is Coming.
