What are these sorrows that Jesus spoke of and how can we endure them?
To understand the meaning of this word sorrow we need to look at Strong’s Concordance #G5604. It refers to the pain of childbirth. This is an intense and severe compulsive pain put upon the body. It is a severe squeezing met to bring forth a new birth from the woman.
Matthew 24:8-13… All these are but the beginning of sorrows (G5604). 9 “Then they shall deliver you up to tribulation and shall kill you. And you shall be hated by all nations, for My Name’s sake. 10 “And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. 11 “And many false prophets shall arise and shall deceive many. 12 “And because of iniquity (G458) shall be increased, the love of many shall be cold. 13 “But the one who endures to the end, he shall be saved.
So, Jesus was speaking of the birth pains of the woman as the heirs are born into the Kingdom of God. Next Jesus lists out the signs that point to the timing that this will occur in.
So, Jesus gave us the cause. Because you hold to the name of Jesus Christ.
Now look at the effects on us as we feel the pangs of sorrows. There will be tribulation brought to you, and you will be hated and killed he said.
People will be offended and will betray one another. Because of the hate that has taken up residency in them that is the spirit of the world.
False prophets will arise and deceive many. These people allow themselves to be tricked by means of the spirit of the antichrist.
Iniquity is increasing, so the love of Christ is cooling off. What is iniquity?
Strong’s Concordance# G458 calls it Iniquity, disobedience, lawlessness, or sin.
Love is being lost because they are not listening to the Holy Spirit from God and are sinning against him. They have chosen to listen to the spirit of the world (the antichrist spirit) and are thus filled with hate. Christ acknowledged that those who will endure will be saved. How are we to endure?
Endurance first of all is a mindset, you need to remember that these things are supposed to happen. They differentiate between those who are heirs of God’s Kingdom and those who were not. Next you have to rely on to the encouragement from the Holy Spirit. Then you have to hold onto the love of Christ and of God. Lastly you have to stir the fire to keep it from going out.
2 Timothy 1:6-9… Therefore, I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you by the laying on of my hands. 7 For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of self-control. 8 Therefore, do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me (His prisoner). But share in the afflictions of the Gospel according to the power of God. 9 He has saved us and called us with a holy calling – not according to our works – but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us through Christ Jesus before the world was.
Stirring up the gift of God is the fire of the holy spirit. We need to do this before the flame goes out. Remember the purpose of your being called and your dedication to God. You have made a commitment to Christ, now hold to being faithful and be true to him.
2 Peter 1:2-11… Grace and peace be multiplied to you, through the acknowledging of God, and of Jesus Christ our Lord.3 His divine power has given us all things pertaining to life and godliness, through the acknowledging of Him Who has called us to glory and virtue; 4 by which most great and precious promises are given to us, so that by them you could be partakers of the divine nature (in that you flee the corruption which is in the world through lust).
The spirit of the world is a corruption that affects the flesh, and it shows up as lust, hate, selfishness just to name a few works of the flesh. Galatians 5:19-21
5 Therefore, give all diligence to this. Moreover, join virtue with your faith; and with virtue, knowledge; 6 and with knowledge, temperance; and with temperance, patience; and with patience, godliness; 7 and with godliness, brotherly kindness; and with brotherly kindness, love.
The apostle Peter next names out the works of the spirit that we need to cultivate and nurture in our lives.
8 For if these things are among you, and abound, they will cause you to be neither idle nor unfruitful in the acknowledging of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 For the one who does not have these things is blind and short-sighted and has forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. 10 Therefore, brothers, give all the more diligence to making your calling and election sure. For if you do these things, you shall never fall. 11 For by this means shall entry into the everlasting Kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ be abundantly provided to you.
Reviewing What We Learned
Jesus identified the attack by the antichrist spirit upon the congregation of God. He called it the beginning of sorrows or birth pains upon the woman.
Because we hold to calling on the name of Jesus Christ, the effect is the attack by the enemy as it manifests itself as the antichrist spirit. Where tribulation, persecution, betrayals, loss of friends, deception and trickery all lead to a division between the sons of the kingdom, those who are spiritual and the sons of man those who are fleshly in there thinking.
This deception is led to a disobedience of the Holy Spirit from God and that is the sin that is killing the love of Christ that is in us.
The love of the brotherhood has cooled off because this division has taken place. This is the separating work of those who are of the kingdom, and they will be pressed out of the woman.
We will endure this birth if we focus on the spirit of truth, righteousness will be sown upon a place of peace that is in our heart. But only If we are receptive to Christ leadings.

A Message to Timothy given 6/24/24:
1 Timothy 4:11-16… Command and teach these things. 12 Let no one despise your youth. But be an example to those who believe – in word, in conversation, in love, in spirit, in faith and in pureness. 13 Until I come, pay attention to reading, to encouragement, and to doctrine. 14 Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy (G4394) with the laying on of the hands of the eldership. 15 Attend to these things. Give yourself to them. So that your progress may be seen among all. 16 Pay attention to yourself, and to learning. Persist in it. For in so doing, you shall both save yourself and those who hear you.
Do not neglect the gift that is in you (Timothy) that was given…
