Lewd and Crude a Forgotten Lesson

Posted on May 4, 2025February 7, 2026

We are addressing in this writing the immoral and wicked sin that happened in Gibeah of Benjamin before God had appointed Samuel as a prophet to Israel. This account is not just a lesson of morality gone wrong but has a prophetic meaning for us today.

Read the biblical account starting from Judges chapter 19 through chapter 21 then let us talk about it.

This biblical story starts off with the expression “there was no king in Israel” and ends in the same way. But makes this one point at the end. “What was right in his own eyes was what each one was accustomed to do.”

What? Did God not provide guidance for the nation of Israel?

At this time in Israel’s history there was no judge serving the nation and it had been many years since Joshua had died. God had given the nation the laws by Moses hand, but as it was pointed out, what was right in the people’s eyes is what they were accustomed to do.

Because of the circumstances that this Levitical priest found himself in. He was forced yes even compelled to involve the nation of Israel in removing the evil intent that had fallen upon the land.

It was wicked, it was immoral, and it had planted a seed in the city of Gibeah in the territorial lands of Benjamin and it produced lewdness in the land that needed to be dealt with.

Questions for Meditation

What is the prophetic sign found in this historical event? What is lewdness? What can this event in Israel’s history reveal to us? Why do we need to study about this now? What counsel about lewdness is found in God’s law?

What is Lewdness?

Lewdness is defined by a behavior that is sexually explicit, it is offensive and considered indecent or obscene. It can include public sexual acts of conduct like indecent exposure of one’s body parts, this term also implies a lack of restraint regarding sexual matters.

The Law

Starting in Leviticus chapter 18 God goes into great detail about what is not going to be acceptable behavior from his people. He made a point of telling Moses that the land and the people that were in it were being cleared out because of the wickedness that they were practicing. So, God gave them the law to help keep them from making the same immoral mistakes that got the people of the land evicted. Read Leviticus 18:1-30

Now let us look at the next two scriptural points and let us talk about them.

Leviticus 19:29… Do not profane your daughter by making her a prostitute, lest the land fall into prostitution and the land become full of depravity.

Leviticus 20:13… If a man has sexual relations with another man as with a woman, they have committed a terrible sin. They must be put to death. They are responsible for their own death.

The point of these two scriptural passages Is this: the land became full of depravity. God’s law called for the death of those who break his laws.

After reading the account of the lewdness of Gibeah can you see how these men of the city had allowed sin to take up dwelling with them? They became perpetrators of the wickedness that was living with them.

Thank God, one man had a bone of righteousness found within him so as to stand up and notify the rest of Israel about what was going on underneath their very noses.

Collectively the nation of Israel was responsible for whatever goes on within its territory. The nation stood up and took action to preserve their good standing with God back then. But what about now?

Lewdness Has Been Found in Israel Today

Today is April 2025 and Pride Week has once again been scheduled for the month of June in the land of Israel.

What are you people thinking? Do you people really not understand Gods Law? If you do understand, what are you going to do about it? Where is the resistance to the lewdness found in your land today?

The Levitical priests are dutifully charged by God to make the law of God known to his people.

Malachi 2:7-9… For the lips of a priest should guard knowledge, and people should seek instruction from his mouth, because he is the messenger of the Lord of Hosts. You, on the other hand, have turned from the way. You have caused many to stumble by your instruction. You have violated the covenant of Levi, says the Lord of Hosts. So, I in turn have made you despised and humiliated before all the people because you are not keeping My ways but are showing partiality in your instruction.

Where is the man of God? Where are all the righteous persons? Why is it that the nation of Israel continues to provoke the wrath of God?

Where are the words of Jonathan Cahn, Jason Sobel, or Amir Tsafati on this matter?

The Prophetic Example

Here is the prophetic example that is found within the story of Judges chapter 19 through 21.

The Levite of Ephraim represents someone who knows God’s law intimately, who is compassionate and loving with the ability to forgive. Then he is forced into a situation where he is called upon to act to awaken the national consciousness of the nation and to make known the collective sin found within it.

The unfaithful concubine from Bethlehem represents the nation of Israel itself and the cutting of her up into 12 pieces after she was dead was meant to shock the 12 tribes of Israel into action.

The six days of eating and drinking with the father-in-law is meant to convey an attitude that you are to enjoy yourself and take life easy.

The older ones and elders within the society of Israel should know better than to try to convey such an idea to its youth.

This thought is an absurdity; life is not to be taken easy; life is not to be taken for granted.

The perverted men of the city represent all those who have allowed themselves to be overtaken with the wickedness from the spirit forces of the world and who have fallen underneath the influence of them.

How does this historical event affect your life? Are you shocked by what you read? Do you feel a measure of anger after reading this account? Did the story confuse you or fill you with a sickening dread?

Has the nation of Israel really forgotten the lessons of this historical account? Have they forgotten the story of God’s judgment of Oholah and Oholibah?

Ezekiel 23:1-49 …  This is what the Lord God says: Summon an assembly against them and consign them to terror and plunder. The assembly will stone them and cut them down with their swords. They will kill their sons and daughters and burn their houses with fire. So, I will put an end to indecency in the land, and all the women will be admonished not to imitate your indecent behavior. They will repay you for your indecency, and you will bear the consequences for your sins of idolatry. Then you will know that I am the Lord Yahweh.

This is not the work of The Dragons Prophecy upon Gods people. But it is the true God of Israel who is calling for the end of the indecency in His land.

Can you see that God’s people cannot live without a true prophet of Yahweh, nor can they live without a righteous king. So, repent and call out before it is too late.

Yes, Come Lord Yeshua, please led us in the way of God’s righteousness. Please come rule over the land in the name of our God. Amen
