Who has benefited from the restoration of Israel so far? What restoration prophecy are we still looking at to be fulfilled? How does the Gog of Magog war play into the restoration of Israel?
God is been waiting for more than 1900 years to sanctify his name by the restoration of Israel. Also in making a memorable name for himself in the Gog of Magog war. So, what events have happened to date that could be a part of the hook that God puts into the jaw of Gog to draw him into this war?
Facts of Events That Have Happened to Date
6/13/25 Israel begins to attack Iran’s nuclear facilities killing many of the nuclear scientists who were being helped by Russia.
6/21/25 President Trump orders the attack on the 3 hardest to hit targets of Iran’s nuclear program.
6/24/25 Pres. Puttin has said that Russia may enter the war. On the same day Pres. Trump announces a peace deal with Israel and Iran.
6/25/25 President Donald Trump convenes a NATO meeting in which he is hailed as the peacemaker in the Middle East.
Now let us read Ezekiel 38 and see what we can extrapolate.
Gog the Chief Prince of Moscow
Ezekiel 38:1-4… The word of the Lord came to me: “Son of man, turn your face toward Gog, of the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal. Prophesy against him and say: This is what the Lord God says: Look, I am against you, Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal. I will turn you around, put hooks in your jaws, and bring you out with all your army, including horses and riders, who are all splendidly dressed, a huge company armed with shields and bucklers, all of them brandishing swords.
Gog is referred to as a Prince of the land even as Michael was referred to as the Prince of God’s people according to Daniel chapter 12.
Get Ready, You Are Being Summoned
Ezekiel 38:5-9… Persia, Cush, and Put are with them, all of them with shields and helmets; Gomer with all its troops; and Beth-togarmah from the remotest parts of the north along with all its troops—many peoples are with you. “Be prepared and get yourself ready, you and all your company who have been mobilized around you; you will be their guard. After a long time you will be summoned. In the last years you will enter a land that has been restored from war and regathered from many peoples to the mountains of Israel, which had long been a ruin. They were brought out from the peoples, and all of them now live securely. You, all of your troops, and many peoples with you will advance, coming like a thunderstorm; you will be like a cloud covering the land.
Notice that according to this prophecy Israel would have to be brought back to its land with its people unified. Also, that this happens in the Last Years or Last Days as God has said. That would put a timing factor to this prophecy.
Now back to our reading:
Have You Come to Seize Spoil?
Ezekiel 38:10-13… “This is what the Lord God says: On that day, thoughts will arise in your mind, and you will devise an evil plan. You will say, ‘I will go up against a land of open villages; I will come against a tranquil people who are living securely, all of them living without walls and without bars or gates in order to seize spoil and carry off plunder, to turn your hand against ruins now inhabited and against a people gathered from the nations, who have been acquiring cattle and possessions and who live at the center of the world.’ Sheba and Dedan and the merchants of Tarshish with all its rulers will ask you, ‘Have you come to seize spoil? Have you assembled your hordes to carry off plunder, to make off with silver and gold, to take cattle and possessions, to seize great spoil?’
Now that we know who the players are we can substitute the ancient names for the modern ones. So, Spain, Yemen, and Saudi Arabia have questioned the intentions of this Russian coalition. Have these three countries questioned Russia’s intentions publicly or is this something we have yet to look forward to seeing fulfilled?
Now back to our reading:
Come Against My People!
Ezekiel 38:14-16…“Therefore prophesy, son of man, and say to Gog: This is what the Lord God says: On that day when My people Israel are dwelling securely, will you not know this and come from your place in the remotest parts of the north, you and many peoples with you, who are all riding horses, a mighty horde, a huge army? You will advance against My people Israel like a cloud covering the land. It will happen in the last days, Gog, that I will bring you against My land so that the nations may know Me, when I show Myself holy through you in their sight.
Have the peace deals with the Israelis and the other Arab countries referred to as the Abraham accords given Israel a sense of peace and security?
I Have Spoken These Things Before!
Ezekiel 38:17-23… “This is what the Lord God says: Are you the one I spoke about in former times through My servants, the prophets of Israel, who for years prophesied in those times that I would bring you against them? Now on that day, the day when Gog comes against the land of Israel” this is the declaration of the Lord God “My wrath will flare up. I swear in My zeal and fiery rage: On that day there will be a great earthquake in the land of Israel. The fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, the animals of the field, every creature that crawls on the ground, and every human being on the face of the earth will tremble before Me. The mountains will be thrown down, the cliffs will collapse, and every wall will fall to the ground. I will call for a sword against him on all My mountains”, the declaration of the Lord God “and every man’s sword will be against his brother. I will execute judgment on him with plague and bloodshed. I will pour out torrential rain, hailstones, fire, and brimstone on him, as well as his troops and the many peoples who are with him. I will display My greatness and holiness and will reveal Myself in the sight of many nations. Then they will know that I am Yahweh.
Here in this part of the prophecy God reveals that He has been prophesying for a long time about this destruction; that is coming to the people of Gog of Magog. What other prophecies is God referring to?
How about the first prophecy found in Enoch chapter 1. Where we find even Jude the brother of James writes about this prophecy of Enoch at Jude 1:14-15.
Take some time to review some of these other prophecies and how they relate to the Gog of Magog war.
Look at Zechariah 14:3-11 where God promises to come with his holy ones.
Next we have Micah 1:2- 4; here it speaks of God treading upon the earth’s high places and where the mountains melt like wax underneath him.
Now let us look at Joel 3:1-17; here in this reading we see that God calls for a sanctifying of war, he tells the nations roundabout to come to fight so that he made judge them. If we will just read on a few more verses in this reading it makes mention that water will begin to flow out of the house of God. And this is a very interesting tie-in to what happens as a swage way; of the chain of events that God reveals to those who earnestly seek to know his ways and the timing of His events. Will consider more about this under the subheading The Chain of Events.
Now let us consider Ezekiel chapter 39:
I Will Send My Fire
Ezekiel 39:1-8… As for you, son of man, prophesy against Gog and say: This is what the Lord God says: Look, I am against you, Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal. I will turn you around, drive you on, and lead you up from the remotest parts of the north. I will bring you against the mountains of Israel. Then I will knock your bow from your left hand and make your arrows drop from your right hand. You, all your troops, and the peoples who are with you will fall on the mountains of Israel. I will give you as food to every kind of predatory bird and to the wild animals. You will fall on the open field, for I have spoken.” This is the declaration of the Lord God. “I will send fire against Magog and those who live securely on the coasts and islands. Then they will know that I am Yahweh. So, I will make My holy name known among My people Israel and will no longer allow it to be profaned. Then the nations will know that I am Yahweh, the Holy One in Israel. Yes, it is coming, and it will happen.” This is the declaration of the Lord God. “This is the day I have spoken about.
Here in this part of Ezekiel’s prophecy God says he is going to send fire against the land. This reminds me of the time that God struck the land of Sodom and Gomorrah with fire. Again God makes mention that He has had it prophesied by his servants from the past. God will secure an everlasting name among those who live through these events. They will know his name, His intentions, His ways, and they will come to fear the living true God of Israel.
The Cleansing of the Land
Ezekiel 39:9-16… “Then the inhabitants of Israel’s cities will go out, kindle fires, and burn the weapons, the bucklers and shields, the bows and arrows, the clubs and spears. For seven years they will use them to make fires. They will not gather wood from the countryside or cut it down from the forests, for they will use the weapons to make fires. They will take the loot from those who looted them and plunder those who plundered them.” This is the declaration of the Lord God. “Now on that day I will give Gog a burial place there in Israel, the Valley of the Travelers east of the Sea. It will block those who travel through, for Gog and all his hordes will be buried there. So, it will be called the Valley of Hamon-gog. The house of Israel will spend seven months burying them in order to cleanse the land. All the people of the land will bury them, and their fame will spread on the day I display My glory.” This is the declaration of the Lord God. “They will appoint men on a full-time basis to pass through the land and bury the invaders who remain on the surface of the ground, in order to cleanse it. They will make their search at the end of the seven months. When they pass through the land and one of them sees a human bone, he will set up a marker next to it until the buriers have buried it in the Valley of Hamon-Gog. There will even be a city named Hamonah there. So, they will cleanse the land.
Where is this Valley that the hordes of Gog are buried in? God reveals this valley is east of the sea. So, if God has stationed himself upon the Mount of olives, then East of there would be the Dead Sea and east of the sea would be the land of Jordan. There is where we should start to look for the Valley of Gog’s crowd. Has God already named the land ahead of time? Is it possible to know where this Valley is today before the war occurs?
Come To My Feast!
Ezekiel 39:17-20… “Son of man, this is what the Lord God says: Tell every kind of bird and all the wild animals: Assemble and come! Gather from all around to My sacrificial feast that I am slaughtering for you, a great feast on the mountains of Israel; you will eat flesh and drink blood. You will eat the flesh of mighty men and drink the blood of the earth’s princes: rams, lambs, male goats, and all the fattened bulls of Bashan. You will eat fat until you are satisfied and drink blood until you are drunk, at My sacrificial feast that I have prepared for you. At My table you will eat your fill of horses and riders, of mighty men and all the warriors.” This is the declaration of the Lord God.

I Will Show Myself!
Back to our reading of Ezekiel 39:
Ezekiel 39:21-29… “I will display My glory among the nations, and all the nations will see the judgment I have executed and the hand I have laid on them. From that day forward the house of Israel will know that I am Yahweh their God. And the nations will know that the house of Israel went into exile on account of their iniquity, because they dealt unfaithfully with Me. Therefore, I hid My face from them and handed them over to their enemies, so that they all fell by the sword. I dealt with them according to their uncleanness and transgressions, and I hid My face from them. “So, this is what the Lord God says: Now I will restore the fortunes of Jacob and have compassion on the whole house of Israel, and I will be jealous for My holy name. They will feel remorse for their disgrace and all the unfaithfulness they committed against Me, when they live securely in their land with no one to frighten them. When I bring them back from the peoples and gather them from the countries of their enemies, I will demonstrate My holiness through them in the sight of many nations. They will know that I am Yahweh their God when I regather them to their own land after having exiled them among the nations. I will leave none of them behind. I will no longer hide My face from them, for I will pour out My Spirit on the house of Israel.” This is the declaration of the Lord God.
So, now that we have reviewed Ezekiel chapter 36 all the way through Ezekiel chapter 39 we can see that this is one complete restoration prophecy that encompasses 4 chapters of Ezekiel. Ever since 1948 God has been making his name known by sanctifying Israel and re-unifying them.
Do you remember how God sanctified his name a long time ago? By bringing his people out of the land of Egypt oh so many years ago and making a name for himself by destroying the Egyptian army in the sea. So, once again God will make a name for himself by destroying the enemies of Israel in the Gog of Magog war.
All the restoration prophecies about the nation of Israel tie together; they are a single event and the timing that God will sanctify his name in.
The Denunciation of Nations
Zephaniah 3:8-20…Therefore, wait for Me this is the Lord’s declaration until the day I rise up for plunder. For My decision is to gather nations, to assemble kingdoms, in order to pour out My indignation on them, all My burning anger; for the whole earth will be consumed by the fire of My jealousy. For I will then restore pure speech to the peoples so that all of them may call on the name of Yahweh and serve Him with a single purpose. From beyond the rivers of Cush My supplicants, My dispersed people, will bring an offering to Me.1 On that day you will not be put to shame because of everything you have done in rebelling against Me. For then I will remove your proud, arrogant people from among you, and you will never again be haughty on My holy mountain.
I will leave a meek and humble people among you, and they will take refuge in the name of Yahweh. The remnant of Israel will no longer do wrong or tell lies; a deceitful tongue will not be found in their mouths. But they will pasture and lie down, with nothing to make them afraid. Sing for joy, Daughter Zion; shout loudly, Israel! Be glad and rejoice with all your heart, Daughter Jerusalem! The Lord has removed your punishment; He has turned back your enemy. The King of Israel, Yahweh, is among you; you need no longer fear harm. On that day it will be said to Jerusalem: “Do not fear; Zion, do not let your hands grow weak. Yahweh your God is among you, a warrior who saves. He will rejoice over you with gladness. He will bring you quietness with His love.
He will delight in you with shouts of joy.” I will gather those who have been driven from the appointed festivals; they will be a tribute from you and a reproach on her. Yes, at that time I will deal with all who afflict you. I will save the lame and gather the scattered; I will make those who were disgraced throughout the earth receive praise and fame. At that time I will bring you back, yes, at the time I will gather you. I will give you fame and praise among all the peoples of the earth, when I restore your fortunes before your eyes. Yahweh has spoken.
I have already said it once, but it is worth repeating so I will say it again. “All the restoration prophecies about the nation of Israel tie together, they are an event and a timing so that God can sanctify his name”. Do you remember the Lord’s prayer, that Christ taught his disciples to pray?
“Our Father in heaven, Your name be honored as holy. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And do not bring us into temptation but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever”.

A Summary of What We Should Have Learned
God will sanctify his name by bringing his people back to the land of Israel. There He will bring about a unification of the two tribes into one nation. God’s people will all speak the same pure language.
God will pour out his Holy Spirit upon His people. And God’s People will observe the commandment and ordinances of God faithfully. God will bring His people into a covenant of peace. Then God will set up His servant David the Prince of peace.
God promised the resurrection from the dead and the re-establishment of his sanctuary in Jerusalem.
All the restoration prophecy that the servants of God have spoken about Israel all point to a single event in time where God judges the nations and Israel becomes the bless people of God.
The Coming Chain of Events
Gog of Magog gathers his hordes of people for war against the land of Israel. Ezekiel 38:14-16
The Messiah flies up from the Dead Sea to Mount Zion to reveal himself to the waring nations. 4 Ezra 13:1-37
The sanctuary of God comes down from heaven to reside in the land of Israel the new Jerusalem. Ezekiel 37:25-28, Revelation 21:1-4
The Messiah stands on the Mount of Olives and a Valley occurs because of the earthquake a river begins to flow into the Dead Sea bringing life everywhere it flows. Zechariah 14:3-11, Revelation 22:1-5
The river of life starts to flow out of Jerusalem. Ezekiel 47:1-23
There is to be a resurrection of the dead. Ezekiel 37:12, Zechariah 9:11-12
