The Coming Events

Posted on August 21, 2025December 28, 2025

Jude quotes parts of Enoch prophecy about one of the most life altering prophecies. Because Enoch received the first vision and words about God’s incoming judgments upon the earth, and he wrote all about it.

After reading the first chapter of what Enoch wrote I would like to analyze this first prophecy with you, dissecting it and then comparing it against other known scriptures about God’s coming judgment to see what we can learn from these coming events. Try making a list of these catch phrases or words for comparison.

Enoch 1:3-9… The sacred mighty one (The Great Holy One) will leave his dwelling. The eternal God will tread on the earth, (even) on Mount Sinai. He will appear with his hosts and (from his camp he will) appear with his powerful strength from heaven.

Everyone will be afraid, and the Watchers will be terrified. Great fear and trembling will grip them, as far as to the ends of the earth. The high mountains will be shaken, and the high hills brought low, melting like wax (honeycomb) in the flame.

The earth will be ripped open, and everything in it will perish, and there will be judgment on all of mankind.

But he will give peace to the righteous. He will safeguard the chosen and show them compassion (he will make peace with them). Then they will all belong to God, and they will be prosperous and blessed. (He will help them) His light will appear to them. He will make peace with them.

Behold the Lord comes with tens of thousands of his devoted Holy Ones, to carry out judgments (as he executes righteous decrees upon the wicked and the ungodly) on everyone, to cross-examine every soul among them who has committed sacrilege (their ungodliness), about their sacrilegious acts, and about all the harsh things those sacrilegious wrongdoers (sinners) have said about him.

Now, these are the talking points from what we just read about these coming events:

  1. God leaves his dwelling and treads upon the earth as he appears in his powerful strength from heaven.
  2. Everyone becomes afraid.
  3. Mountains are shaken and they melt like wax in a flame.
  4. Earth is ripped open and everything will perish and there is a judgment upon all mankind.
  5. There is peace to be given to the righteous and God will make peace with them as His light will appear to them.
  6. The Lord comes with His Holy Ones to carry out judgments, execute decrees and cross-examine every soul among them, against what these sinners have spoken against him.

Now let us reflect on what some of the prophets had to say about this prophecy of Enoch and extrapolate a little more information from their words.

The Prophet Amos said to the nation of Israel for them to prepare to meet their God that he was here and he invoked God’s name.

Amos 4:13… Israel, prepare to meet your God!He is here: the One who forms the mountains, creates the wind, and reveals His thoughts to man, the One who makes the dawn out of darkness and strides on the heights of the earth. Yahweh, the God of Hosts, is His name.

Amos introduced God as the creator of the physical universe.  He disclosed that God even produced light from darkness. He says that God reveals His thoughts to men.

Next, the prophet Micah said this about the prophecy of Enoch: That God would be a witness against the earth.

Micah 1:3-4… Listen, all you peoples; pay attention, earth and everyone in it! The Lord God will be a witness against you, the Lord, from His holy temple. Look, the Lord is leaving His place and coming down to trample the heights of the earth. The mountains will melt beneath Him, and the valleys will split apart,
like wax near a fire, like water cascading down a mountainside. All this will happen because of Jacob’s rebellion and the sins of the house of Israel.

Micah reveals that all this happens because of the rebellion and sin. Why is it that he referred to the prophecy of Enoch and ties it into the rebellion of Jacob and the sin of the house of Israel?

Is it not because of the worship of Bel fills the land? Is there not abortion that is still allowed in Israel today. How about that gay pride month is still practiced and tolerated among the people of Israel. Do you think that giving away God’s land to the enemy to secure peace that this is not also a rebellion to God?

The sin in the land of Israel is abundant and until the people wake up God’s will continue to shake them. The people of Israel think they are going to build a house to God upon Mount Zion?

Will not God strike the land splitting open the very ground! Is that not what Scripture says about Christ standing upon the Mount of olives! Zechariah 14:4

Moses spoke about the prophecy of Enoch, but he indicated that God had already come and stood upon Mount Sinai, that he had already displayed his power to his people when He gave them the law.

Deuteronomy 33:1- 4… This is the blessing that Moses, the man of God, gave the Israelites before his death. He said: The Lord came from Sinai and appeared to them from Seir; He shone on them from Mount Paran and came with ten thousand holy ones, with lightning from His right hand for them.Indeed He loves the people. All Your holy ones are in Your hand, and they assemble at Your feet.
Each receives Your words. Moses gave us instruction, a possession for the assembly of Jacob. So, He became King in Jeshurun when the leaders of the people gathered with the tribes of Israel.

Next we have the prophet Isaiah, he does not make reference to the prophecy of Enoch, but he does speak about the Lord coming with fire, with his rebuke, with the judgment of all flesh.

Isaiah 66:15-16… You will see, you will rejoice, and you will flourish like grass; then the Lord’s power will be revealed to His servants, but He will show His wrath against His enemies. Look, the Lord will come with fire— His chariots are like the whirlwind— to execute His anger with fury and His rebuke with flames of fire.
For the Lord will execute judgment on all flesh with His fiery sword, and many will be slain by the Lord.

Now let’s turn our attention to a song found in the Psalms where God’s people  sing about Gods coming and the burning up of their enemies, how the mountains will tremble at his presence.

Psalms 97:2-6… Clouds and thick darkness surround Him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne. Fire goes before Him and burns up His foes on every side. His lightning lights up the world; the earth sees and trembles.
The mountains melt like wax at the presence of the Lord— at the presence of the Lord of all the earth. The heavens proclaim His righteousness; all the peoples see His glory.

All people will see the glory of God and we will hear the proclamations of his righteousness.

The Timing of His Coming Light

Jesus beloved apostle John reveals in the vision, a word that was given to him, and describes his interaction with the angel.

Revelation 7:14-17… I said to him, “Sir, you know.” Then he told me: These are the ones coming out of the great tribulation. They washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. For this reason they are before the throne of God, and they serve Him day and night in His sanctuary. The One seated on the throne will shelter them: They will no longer hunger; they will no longer thirst; the sun will no longer strike them, nor will any heat. For the Lamb who is at the center of the throne will shepherd them; He will guide them to springs of living waters,
and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.

The angel revealed the very specific and detailed information about those righteous ones who receive the peace of God and his light. That they would have to come out of this tribulation but only because they washed their clothes in the blood of the Lamb, they then will have the privilege of serving God forever.

Christ Jesus also mentions the Holy Ones of the elect or chosen ones as he begins to describe the coming of God and the events to follow in a timeline that involves them:

Matthew 24:29-31… For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes as far as the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. Wherever the carcass (Body) is, there the vultures will gather. The Coming of the Son of Man “Immediately after the tribulation of those days:

The sun will be darkened, and the moon will not shed its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the celestial powers will be shaken. “Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the peoples of the earth will mourn; and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

He will send out His angels with a loud trumpet, and they will gather His elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.

Christ Jesus reveals that everyone will know that God has arrived because everyone will see him in the sky. But he begins the timeline with vultures gathering around a body.

He discloses this very interesting comparison of the birds of prey as they surround and feed upon a body and he refers to this as the tribulation of those days.

So, he puts in order a timeline of the tribulation followed up by the days of darkness and the sign of the Son of Man. As he sends forth his angels to gather the chosen.

This is how it looks as we put it into an organized timeline:

  1. The tribulation upon the body of Christ.
  2. Celestial darkness and powers will be shaken.
  3. The sign of Christ that all will see.
  4. The sending forth of God’s Angels to gather the elect.

How does this list from Christ compare to that from Enochs? Do we notice anything similar or are all these things Christ said seems to be something new?

After meditating on these two lists and thinking about other prophecies in God’s word. I can’t help but come to the conclusion that these two list are not as complete as we like to think. There are other scriptures that talk about The Resurrection, The Great Judgment and Gog of Magog war just to name some big events.

The disciple Jude writes very specifically about the judgment upon sinners when he makes mention partly about the prophecy of Enoch.

Jude 1:14-15… And Enoch, in the seventh generation from Adam, prophesied about them: Look! The Lord comes with thousands of His holy ones to execute judgment on all and to convict them of all their ungodly acts that they have done in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things ungodly sinners have said against Him.

Jude is very much to the point about focusing on the ungodly acts of sinners. As we read his letter in context we understand the point he is making is this. What we say and how we act matters, this is how we are going to be judged by God.

Next, as we look at what the apostle Peter wrote when mentioning the prophecies of Enoch, he refers to the creation of God by the spoken Word. He speaks about how the judgment of God will come as a thief, and that the people will be unaware of the judgment and the examination of themselves by the Lord in those days.

2 Peter 3:7, 10-12…But by the same word, the present heavens and earth are stored up for fire, beingkept until the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men…But the Day of the Lord will come like a thief; on that day the heavens will pass away with a loud noise, the elements will burn and be dissolved, and the earth and the works on it will be disclosed.Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, it is clear what sort of people you should be in holy conduct and godliness as you wait for and earnestly desire the coming of the day of God. The heavens will be on fire and be dissolved because of it, and the elements will melt with the heat. But based on His promise, we wait for the new heavens and a new earth, where righteousness will dwell.

So, the apostle Peter refers to the day of destruction of the ungodly by the judgment day of fire.

Next Peter speaks about the judgment and the cleansing to both the heavens and to the earth. Peter refers to it as a disclosing and then a dissolving; to make way for what was coming as new

Then he encourages all to conduct ourselves with holiness as we wait on God’s coming judgments. That we should meditate upon God’s promises as we wait for his new heavens and his new earth where righteousness will dwell.

I hope that after reading this article that you understand that the Apocrypha of Enoch is in fact an inspired writing of God. That many prophets quoted from it, and that Christ Jesus even referred to it when he spoke about things that were coming upon us all.

There are a lot more events in God’s timeline, that we have not even begun to place in any kind of order or much less considered. I hope that this article will be a springboard for your further studies into the timeline of the coming events of God.
