Why has God been angry? If we do not understand this fundamental question we are indeed in trouble and destined the suffer the wrath of God. Let’s look into the Scriptures and see if we cannot understand who or what God’s anger is brought against.
Revelation 15:1… And I saw in heaven another sign, great and wonderful, seven angels with seven plagues. These are the last ones, because by means of them the anger of God is brought to a finish.
Plagues by God are meant to get the attention of mankind, it is meant as a corrective measure, and this is the last attempt by God that he is making to reach the hearts of mankind, as he seeks their repentance.
Revelation 15:2… And I saw what seemed to be a glassy sea mingled with fire, and those who come off victorious from the wild beast and from its image and from the number of its name standing by the glassy sea, having harps of God.
Timing is everything, God is letting us know when the plagues are brought to bear by the pouring out of the seven bowls, we know what time frame God does this, and what sequence the events are going to happen in. We can also see that some have come off victorious over this earth are in heaven singing the victory song and will not face the anger of God by means of the seven bowls.
Revelation 15:3-4… And they are singing the song of Moses the slave of God and the song of the Lamb, saying: “Great and wonderful are your works, Jehovah God, the Almighty. Righteous and true are your ways, King of eternity. 4 Who will not really fear you, Jehovah, and glorify your name, because you alone are loyal? For all the nations will come and worship before you, because your righteous decrees have been made manifest.”
The beginning of wisdom is the fear of God, and all will have to glorify God’s name, all will have to learn to worship the only true God. Now all of God’s righteous decrees have been made known to mankind, it is incumbent upon each one of us to begin to apply these teachings in our lives and escape the false worship.
Revelation 15:5-8… And after these things I saw, and the sanctuary of the tent of the witness was opened in heaven, 6 and the seven angels with the seven plagues emerged from the sanctuary, clothed with clean, bright linen and girded about their breasts with golden girdles. 7 And one of the four living creatures gave the seven angels seven golden bowls that were full of the anger of God, who lives forever and ever. 8 And the sanctuary became filled with smoke because of the glory of God and because of his power, and no one was able to enter into the sanctuary until the seven plagues of the seven angels were finished.
You might be asking what is the significance of nobody being allowed into the sanctuary until these plagues are done? Well prayers were offered up in the sanctuary in the past, it’s plausible to imagine that no one will be allowed to offer up prayers and incense until after these plagues are fulfilled and brought to their completion. Revelation 8:3-4
Pronouncements of God Made Manifest
How are we to understand the pronouncements of God? How would God show us that he’s unhappy? Understanding what God wants and will not tolerate is very important to our life. God has been unhappy, displeased, and outright angry at the affairs of mankind. It is time to stop displeasing God! How are we to know what God wants us to stop doing? If God is angry will he not show it to us?
Yes, the first thing that God hates is worship to be given to anyone or anything else. So the first bowl will be poured out upon those worshiping anything but God.
Revelation 16:1-2… And I heard a loud voice out of the sanctuary say to the seven angels: “Go and pour out the seven bowls of the anger of God into the earth.” 2 And the first one went off and poured out his bowl into the earth. And a hurtful and malignant ulcer (a sore, evil, and grievous) came to be upon the men that had the mark of the wild beast and that were worshiping its image.
The phrase rendered as a hurtful malignant ulcer is really a combination of three Greek words, the first according to Strong’s Concordance is #G1668 helkos, and it can also be rendered as a sore or festering wound. Next is #G556 kakos, bad, evil, properly and inward foul, rotten. Like poison, rotten character, with a pronominal adjective. Then we have # G4190 poneros, as malicious wicked as in pain-ridden agonies and miseries they go with evil.
You would find very few people who would not agree that there is a paranormal objective that is afflicting mankind today. It is wicked and evil and those who get caught up in the game end up in pain and misery from it.
Worship only belongs to the true God! Those who came off victorious over this life do not receive the mark nor the image of the wild beast, that is why they are allowed into heaven.
What does the second and third bowl being poured out effect?
Revelation 16:3-7… And the second one poured out his bowl into the sea. And it became blood as of a dead man, and every living soul died, [yes,] the things in the sea. 4 And the third one poured out his bowl into the rivers and the fountains of the waters. And they became blood. 5 And I heard the angel over the waters say: “You, the One who is and who was, the loyal One, are righteous, because you have rendered these decisions, 6 because they poured out the blood of holy ones and of prophets, and you have given them blood to drink. They deserve it.” 7 And I heard the altar say: “Yes, Jehovah God, the Almighty, true and righteous are your judicial decisions.”
The pouring out of the second and third bowl effects the water. What does the water represent? The clue actually comes from the angel who says, “they poured out the blood, they deserve it.” Who are they? Would it not be those who spiritually advise mankind?
Jesus Christ offered life-giving water to those who would receive it from him, and he said: that the water would bubble up becoming a spring imparting everlasting life. John 4:14
What effect does the fourth bowl have?
Revelation 16:8-9… And the fourth one poured out his bowl upon the sun; and to [the sun] it was granted to scorch the men with fire. 9 And the men were scorched with great heat, but they blasphemed the name of God, who has the authority over these plagues, and they did not repent so as to give glory to him.
Could this be contributed to a global warming? Let’s not forget God is always in control of the elements and the things that effect this world. Again, the purpose of these plagues is to have mankind repent and give glory and worship to the only true God.
What does the fifth bowl effect?
Revelation 16:10-11… And the fifth one poured out his bowl upon the throne of the wild beast. And its kingdom became darkened, and they began to gnaw their tongues for [their] pain, 11 but they blasphemed the God of heaven for their pains and for their ulcers, and they did not repent of their works.
You might be wondering what works is the kingdom of the wild beasts been involved in? Well It has set itself up as the one world government and the one world religion in direct opposition to the only true God. It claims to be able to bring about world peace, but can it? It cannot even stop the Russian President from his aggression and his war on Ukraine.
What is the purpose of the sixth bowl, and how will it effect of mankind?
Revelation 16:12… And the sixth one poured out his bowl upon the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up, that the way might be prepared for the kings from the rising of the sun.
The Euphrates River flowed through the city of Babylon, a place that held God’s people captive. Babylon represents the city of confusion. So the Euphrates River is the water feeding the city of confusion. So, God dries up the waters that drive the confusion, to what end? It is dried up for the kings from the rising of the sun. Who are these kings from the rising of the sun? It would be none other than God and his son the rightful heir to the kingdom. Lord of lords and King of kings God has made him. Revelation 17:14, 19:16
What happens next?
Revelation 16:13-16… And I saw three unclean inspired expressions [that looked] like frogs (G944) come out of the mouth of the dragon and out of the mouth of the wild beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet. 14 They are, in fact, expressions inspired by demons and perform signs, and they go forth to the kings of the entire inhabited earth, to gather them together to the war of the great day of God the Almighty. 15 “Look! I am coming as a thief. Happy is the one that stays awake and keeps his outer garments, that he may not walk naked, and people look upon his shamefulness.” 16 And they gathered them together to the place that is called in Hebrew HarMagedon.
The demons that are in the spirit realm do not accept God’s kingdom nor its authority and try to undermine the perfect will of God by means of the froggy voices. Yes, frogs are known for their constant croaking at night or after a rainstorm, and just as soon as you get close to them they get quiet so it’s very hard to spot where the sound is coming from.
So, what croaking expressions would cause mankind to fight against God? Would it not be that God is and alien from outer space trying to conquer the world of mankind? That God is acquiring the earth and we would be under the domination of this alien species. There have been plenty of movies, stories, and books that all have a similar theme. Even now, revelations about UFOs are coming out in the newspapers and TV headlines. But I will tell you a truth, anyone who claims to be God and who has the power and authority over the elements of this earth, is a God.
Submission to those who are in authority should have been one of the first things we learned as children. But somehow as adults that fact changed, that the freedom of choice of our individual rights are more important than anything else. But is that really true? Are we not truly under submission to God and to the appointed King of kings and Lord of Lords Jesus Christ?
When are these inspired sayings coming? The Scriptures indicate after the 5th bowl is poured out. Indeed, don’t get caught off guard with the croaking, and goings-on of the wild beast and the false prophet, but keep your senses. Don’t become involved in their wicked works and in the false worship, then you too can become happy at the revelation of Jesus Christ from heaven.
What happens at this pouring out of the seventh bowl?
Revelation 16:17-21… And the seventh one poured out his bowl upon the air. At this a loud voice issued out of the sanctuary from the throne, saying: “It has come to pass!” 18 And lightnings and voices and thunders occurred, and a great earthquake occurred such as had not occurred since men came to be on the earth, so extensive an earthquake, so great. 19 And the great city split into three parts, and the cities of the nation’s fell; and Babylon the Great was remembered in the sight of God, to give her the cup of the wine of the anger of his wrath. (Jeremiah 25:15, 27-38) 20 Also, every island fled, and mountains were not found. 21 And a great hail with every stone about the weight of a talent descended out of heaven upon the men, and the men blasphemed God due to the plague of hail, because the plague of it was unusually great.
A great shaking occurs, not sure if this is a physical or spiritual but more than likely it’s both. The shaking represents a change in the world, so now Babylon the great will face God’s wrath. Men will have to say what is going on. And they will blaspheme God because of this plague, but they will not find peace.
