Who are these that receive the kingdom? Where is God’s Kingdom and when is the kingdom set up?
God set up his Kingdom in the days of those kings, that’s just what the prophet Danial said according to the dream he was given. There were only four identified kingdoms seen by Daniel nothing more, and anyone adding to the Scriptures interpretation of the vision would find himself in a very precarious spot respecting God and his kingdom. Now that’s not saying that there is no other biblical scriptures that help us understand this prophecy. As it could be expanded upon as a timeline. But God is the revealer of secrets, and he alone appoints rulership and kingdoms. Daniel 4:17
So who were these kingdoms of the dream?
We had the Babylonia Empire – 605 BC as the Head of Gold.
Then came the Medo Persia Empire – 539 BC as the Chest of Silver.
Followed by the Greek Empire – 330 BC as the Body of Copper.
Next the Roman Empire came into world power in 27 BC as the 2 Legs of Iron. Rome’s rule of government was that of a Republic before it split into the Eastern and Western Roman powers. The Eastern Roman Empire became known as the Byzantine Empire and from that came the Eastern Orthodox Church. The Western Roman Empire became the Roman Catholic Church. And used its authority to crown kings.
The Feet of Iron and Clay
Can we identify which kingdom is the feet of iron and clay today?
Now as for the feet they are mentioned with a mixture of clay and Iron, and they are called out as a kingdom but not as the fifth Kingdom. Which means they are still a part of the fourth kingdom of Iron in some way. Which is very interesting because Rome as a matter of history ended up is an Eastern and Western kingdoms, which eventually became a religious and political force to help legitimize the governments that followed it.
We are told what the mixture of the Iron and Clay is, it is a divided kingdom proving to be fragile and proving to be firm. Danial said the Clay is the seed of mankind and they would not be sticking together.
So who is the last kingdom? Because there is two feet on the image could there be two kingdoms that are connected together in some way? Let us look at some interesting facts of history that might help us determine who might be this kingdom.
We have a few candidates that would fit that description given by Daniel, of these people not sticking with their government. From the 1700s into the 1800s we had various rebellions, examples of people uprising against their governments to form republics.
Civil disorder resulted in rebellion and eventually revolution. Rebellion is born from oppressive power borne by the seed of mankind, and sooner or later it demands attention. One of the key points that we want to look at is a Republic connection, a government of the people and for the people, something patterned after the Roman Empire. The last thing that we need to consider is, it would be playing a major role as a world power over God’s people.
France is in its Fifth Republic – 1958 and had a connection with Rome but is not one of the four top governments of the world.
Russia has gone through many forms of government and in 1589 remnants of the old Byzantine Empire in Russia considered Moscow to be the third Rome. Russia considered itself to be part of the Holy Roman Empire. Imperial Russia itself had gone through a Bolshevik revolution in 1917. It became a part of the larger Soviet Union or USSR, but after 1991 return to its original boundary. It is one of the four world powers to help form the United Nations. And as of today, is engaged in an unprovoked war with Ukraine. It has by its actions broken with the ideology and international laws of the United Nations.
The Republic of China came to power after replacing the last imperial dynasty in China – February 12, 1912, due to the peoples revolt. The Catholic Church had a huge, invested influence in China but the Communist Party has taken over. Most maps of the world will show China as the Republic of China, but it’s rule is anything but that. China as a whole is a communist country and as of right now is crushing its people to comply with its will. It is one of the four powers to help establish the United Nations. As of today it is pushing to be the next world power.
In history we also have the United Kingdom – 1707. It was a colonial power that turned into a type of Republic. It is one of the four major powers that help establish the United Nations. It is a strong ally and works closely with United States of America trying to bring about world peace.
And then we have the United States of America – 1776. Who had rebelled from the United Kingdom and formed its own government with the help of France. United States of America was one of the major players in forming the United Nations. And as of today it is the world power but is poised to lose that position.
These last 2 Kingdoms UK and USA could be collectively called the Anglo-American Power – starting from as early as February 6,1922 at the Washington Naval Conference. They have both shared in numerous treaties aimed towards World Peace. Like the signing of the Atlantic Charter on August 14, 1941. That action led to the United Nations Declaration of January 2, 1942, by the four worlds’ superpowers as a treaty.
This treaty led to the formation of the United Nations under the UN Charter of June 26, 1945. Then came The North Atlantic Treaty April 4, 1949. That also led to the formation of NATO.
We cannot come this far without mentioning the history of the Anglo – Saxons, as one party of the Anglo-American world power. The Anglo-Saxons was a group of people who came from northern Europe to settle Britain. They were made up of the Germanic tribes, and later on was added to as a group by the other tribes of the North Sea region.
And as of today, we have various kingdoms around the world such as Australia and Canada where the people are rising up and resisting their government because of hard oppressive measures being applied to their society’s.
So, we ran through some of the history of these kingdoms who do you think make up the Iron & Clay feet mixture kingdom? Every one of these kingdoms we mentioned has been affected by or influence by the Roman Catholic Church and have a Christian population in among the people.
When did God set up his kingdom?
Daniel 2:44… And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be brought to ruin. And the kingdom itself will not be passed on to any other people. It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite.
Notice that the Scripture said: those kings, not this kingdom or in the time of that King. God took his time in setting up his kingdom, it was going to be perfect and last forever, there was no need to rush God’s kingdom in setting it up, no timeline to follow.
Do you think God set up his kingdom in the time of the Clay and Iron kingdom or was it established before that time?
God had been speaking for a long time about his kingdom and who his King would be. God had it prophesied to make sure that mankind knew what God’s intentions were. God established the right to set up who would rule over the Kingdom of mankind.
Daniel 4:17…By the decree of watchers the thing is, and [by] the saying of holy ones the request is, to the intent that people living may know that the Most High is Ruler in the kingdom of mankind and that to the one whom he wants to, he gives it, and he sets up over it even the lowliest one of mankind.
God had it prophesied to the Jewish people by means of Isaiah the prophet and others that the kingdom of David would be given the rulership to time indefinite. But this would be no ordinary rulership for his name gives us a clue that the kingdom would be heavenly one ruling over mankind.
Isaiah 9:6-7… For there has been a child born to us, there has been a son given to us; and the princely rule will come to be upon his shoulder. And his name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. 7 To the abundance of the princely rule and to peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and upon his kingdom in order to establish it firmly and to sustain it by means of justice and by means of righteousness, from now on and to time indefinite. The very zeal of Jehovah of armies will do this.
Jesus Christ came as the ambassador of peace to the Jewish people, then he presented himself as the rightful King to the throne of David. But the Jewish religious leaders of that day refused to acknowledge his right to the throne. And had him killed, but this too fulfill biblical prophecy.
Hail The Invisible Ruler
But God also knew that the governments of mankind would have a problem serving an invisible ruler. So, God’s appointed king would have to break the nations not obeying him, dashing them to pieces showing himself to be a God over mankind.
Psalms 2:6-9… [Saying:] “I, even I, have installed my king Upon Zion, my holy mountain.” 7 Let me refer to the decree of Jehovah; He has said to me: “You are my son; I, today, I have become your father. 8 Ask of me, that I may give nations as your inheritance And the ends of the earth as your own possession. 9 You will break them with an iron scepter, As though a potter’s vessel you will dash them to pieces.”
But for a kingdom to be successful it needs to have a loyal advisors, subjects that surround the king, those who have a vested interest in the same goals and interest as the king. And so there was promise given to others to have this authority over the nations of the earth, given to those who will follow this king of God’s kingdom.
Revelation 2:26-28… And to him that conquers and observes my deeds down to the end I will give authority over the nations, 27 and he shall shepherd the people with an iron rod so that they will be broken to pieces like clay vessels, the same as I have received from my Father, 28 and I will give him the morning star.
What else do we know about this invisible ruler?
Colossians 1:12-20… thanking the Father who rendered YOU suitable for YOUR participation in the inheritance of the holy ones in the light. 13 He delivered us from the authority of the darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of the Son of his love, 14 by means of whom we have our release by ransom, the forgiveness of our sins. 15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation; 16 because by means of him all [other] things were created in the heavens and upon the earth, the things visible and the things invisible, no matter whether they are thrones or lordships or governments or authorities. All [other] things have been created through him and for him. 17 Also, he is before all [other] things and by means of him all [other] things were made to exist, 18 and he is the head of the body, the congregation. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that he might become the one who is first in all things; 19 because [God] saw good for all fullness to dwell in him, 20 and through him to reconcile again to himself all [other] things by making peace through the blood [he shed] on the torture stake, no matter whether they are the things upon the earth or the things in the heavens.
Blessed are the ones who accept this invisible ruler and the role that he plays in God’s kingdom. Come Lord Jesus Amen.
