What is the definition of testimony? What does this mean to hold on?
Blessed are those who know the help from the Lord. And a blessing they are to those who hear of the witness bearing about the Lord’s support.
Testimony is a statement given as evidence or proof of the existence of something.
The meaning of the statement to hold on is to encourage you to not give up. The apostle Paul gave encouragement for us to hold on and not give up.
Galatians 6:9… So let us not give up in doing what is fine, for in due season we shall reap if we do not tire out.
We have an obligation to speak about the help that we have received from our Lord, this testimony reminds not only us, but it helps others to exercise faith in our Lord as we give our statements and experiences as the proof and evidence of our Lord’s love for all of us.
Matthew 12:17-21… that there might be fulfilled what was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, who said: “Look! My servant whom I chose, my beloved, whom my soul approved! I will put my spirit upon him, and what justice is he will make clear to the nations. He will not wrangle, nor cry aloud, nor will anyone hear his voice in the broad ways. No bruised reed will he crush, and no smoldering flaxen wick will he extinguish, until he sends out justice with success. Indeed, in his name nations will hope.”
Isaiah 11:10… And it must occur in that day that there will be the root of Jesse that will be standing up as a signal for the peoples. To him even the nations will turn inquiringly, and his resting-place must become glorious. And it must occur in that day that Jehovah will again offer his hand, a second time, to acquire the remnant of his people who will remain over…
After reading the Scriptures you feel about bearing witness about Jesus Christ?
When we think about the acts of kindness that have been given us by God do not feel obligated to speak up and relate your experience, yes to praise him? And if we do, it is called a good work, it is an act of devotion given to God and into our Lord Jesus Christ.
Revelation 12:17… who observe the commandments of God and have the work of bearing witness (G3141) to Jesus.
In Strong’s Concordance the Greek word #G3141 can be translated as witness, evidence, or testimony.
