What is the Will of God? What does God expect from us? Is there a difference between the Kingdom of Heaven and God’s Kingdom?
We shall answer these questions in this article but first let us review the cited Scripture.
Matthew 7:21-23… Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord!’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of My Father in heaven. On that day many will say to Me, ‘Lord, Lord, didn’t we prophesy in Your name, drive out demons in Your name, and do many miracles in Your name? Then I will announce to them, ‘I never knew you! Depart from Me, you lawbreakers!
Why does using Christ name and doing powerful works in his name not allow you entry into the Kingdom of Heaven?
Christ said because these ones did not understand God’s will and he also called them lawbreakers!
The Greek word use as “will” according to Strongs Concordance #2307 could be used as desire, wishes, determination. So, what is God’s wish, desire or determination for mankind, the earth and all those who live here?
Christ told us in the Lord’s prayer as he helps us identify three things of importance:
Matthew 6:9-10… Therefore, you should pray like this: Our Father in heaven, Your name be honored as holy. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven…
- Do you know and honor God’s name?
- Do you understand and know about the Kingdom of God?
- Do you understand how God is going to affect the earth and align it with his Kingdom in Heaven?
God has already established his laws and how his kingdom works and how functions in heaven. How he is to be worshiped and what are the celebrations that are observed in heaven.
What are some Scriptures that we can focus on to determine what God intends for his Kingdom? What did his servants and faithful ones of old believe that we need to be doing to serve God’s will?
God’s Will and His Ways
God is not left mankind without direction or instruction, from the very beginning God had his intentions disclosed to Enoch, Abraham, and Moses. These interactions were written and where to be preserved and read by the faithful till the time of the end.
Notice what King David told his son Solomon.
1 Kings 2:3-4… keep your obligation to the Lord your God to walk in His ways and to keep His (The Lord God) statutes, commands, ordinances, and decrees. This is written in the law of Moses, so that you will have success in everything you do and wherever you turn, and so that the Lord will carry out His promise that He made to me: ‘If your sons are careful to walk faithfully before Me (The Lord God) with their whole mind and heart, you will never fail to have a man on the throne of Israel.’
The point that was being made was that Solomon needed to walk in God’s ways to keep his statutes, commandments, ordinances, and decrees which includes God’s festivals, some people just call them the Laws of God.
Who will sit on the throne in Israel? Has this not been promised to Christ Jesus? Psalms 110:1-7, Matthew 25:31
Christ will carefully care out God’s ways, statutes, commands, ordinances, and decrees.
So, because we are Gentile we have been told that Christ ended the law for those who believe in Christ and call on his name.
So, If the laws of God has ended why was entry into the Kingdom Heaven denied to the lawbreakers who testify about Christ? Have the Laws of God really ended?
God’s Word Goes Forth
God has not changed! His words have not gone forth without being back results.
If you been called by God to his Kingdom than the next Scripture should touch your heart.
Zachariah 3:7…This is what the Lord of Hosts says: If you walk in My ways and keep My instructions, you will both rule My house and take care of My courts; I will also grant you access among these who are standing here.
If you been called to rule over the house of God, then you must come to the understanding that there are obligations that God is requiring from you and those who you will rule over. We have to observe the ways of God and keep his instructions.
Micah 6:8… He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God
We have to walk with God, not walking in our own ways of understanding. God is one of justice and he expect us to be loving, kind, and observe justice. What else are we obligated to do?
James 1:27…The worship that God wants is this: caring for orphans or widows who need help and keeping yourself free from the world’s evil influence. This is the kind of worship that God accepts as pure and good.
Besides caring for our own household, we have to look out for the interest of others and keep ourselves from the influence of this evil world that were living in.
At this time of the end Satan the Devil the Dragon pursues all who speak about Jesus and KEEP GOD’S LAWS.
Revelation 12:17… So, the dragon was furious with the woman and left to wage war against the rest of her offspring those who keep God’s commands and have the testimony about Jesus.
As you can see that the testimony alone in the name of Christ will not save you. Our lives have to be lived with Gods Laws being observed first and foremost. Remember Christ has been sent forth to return all back to God and his established ways. 1 Peter 3:18
Come Lord Jesus and teach us all of God’s Righteous Ways! Amen
