What is more important, godly laws or godly principles? What are the elementary things of God?
Hebrew 5:12-14…For, indeed, although YOU ought to be teachers in view of the time, YOU again need someone to teach YOU from the beginning the elementary things of the sacred pronouncements of God; and YOU have become such as needing milk, not solid food. For everyone that partakes of milk is unacquainted with the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. But solid food belongs to mature people, to those who through use have their perceptive powers trained to distinguish both right and wrong.
The law is fundamental, it is elementary, we teach are kids the law till it is inculcated into their heart. Whereas godly principles our for mature people who are spiritual. Those who know how to use love to navigate in their life.
The law is a boundary line, and we express it as a “don’t do that,” to our kids. The most powerful word in the world, right after God’s name is No. Even the devil recognizes how powerful the word No is. The bible says take your stand and oppose the devil and he will flee from you. James 4:7
How do we subject ourselves to God?
Gaining the Mind of Christ
Jesus Christ was a good example of someone who subjected himself to God. So, how do we become like Christ Jesus in our actions and thinking?
Colossians 3:16… Let the word of the Christ reside in YOU richly in all wisdom.
We learn from Jesus Christ by his examples, his words, as they ring in our ears and resonate in our hearts.
We have some expressions, and they go like this:
The apple does not fall too far from the tree. He is a chip off the old block. Like Father like son. What do these expressions mean to you?
Hebrews 1:3…He is the exact representation of his very being.
Jesus is the representation of God, and he acts like his heavenly Father! So, we to can act like Jesus Christ by gaining the mind of Christ.
1 Corinthians 2:14-16… But a physical man does not receive the things of the spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot get to know [them], because they are examined spiritually. 15 However, the spiritual man examines indeed all things, but he himself is not examined by any man. 16 For “who has come to know the mind of Jehovah, that he may instruct him?” But we do have the mind of Christ.
The teachings of Christ Jesus reveal much about God as we listen, we can learn and obey and then we will become blessed by our Father in heaven.
How do we become spiritual people? How do we receive the spirit of God?
Becoming Spiritual People
If we want to become spiritual people then we have to start submitting to the Holy Spirit, by being obedient to it as it teaches us the things that we need to know. Ask yourself: what would Jesus do?
First, we need to be praying to God in the name of Jesus Christ. Next we read God’s word daily.
We then need to meditate on the Scriptures or a scriptural point. We next need to pray and ask questions about what we just read.
We need to believe and acknowledge some aspects about Jesus Christ that first, he is God son and that he has been given the inheritance of the kingdom.
We need to understand that he came and provided a perfect sacrifice to cover our sins, we also need to let the blood of the covenant cover us.
We need to understand the Holy Spirit has been sent forth to teach us the things we need to know. We will be accountable for what were told by means of the Holy Spirit whether it be through the Scriptures or an actual word.
We are required to act in faith. We have to publicly acknowledge that Jesus Christ has become Lord of heaven and earth.
Philippians 2:9-11…For this very reason also God exalted him to a superior position and kindly gave him the name that is above every [other] name, so that in the name of Jesus every knee should bend of those in heaven and those on earth and those under the ground, and every tongue should openly acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.
Lord Jesus, you are the anointed one, sent forth as the Savior of the whole world, blessed is he who comes in the name of Jehovah. Let your kingdom come that your will be done on earth as it has been accomplished in heaven Father, Amen.
